As part of the 2040 General Plan and Zoning Code Consistency Project, the City is updating its Missing Middle Housing (MMH) standards. MMH refers to a range of building types that contain more than one housing unit and are “middle” in size between that of single-unit homes and larger apartment buildings. The proposed standards for MMH permit more types of housing in our communities. Promoting more types of housing can provide homes at price points that are attainable to middle-income households.
This survey collects information to understand how residents feel about new homes in their communities, particularly in areas with floor area ratios (FAR) of 1 and 2. FAR measures how big a building can be on a property. Bigger buildings are allowed in areas with higher FARs. Survey results will help inform discussion around proposed MMH standards.
